The Reactor CPU, or "Central Control", is a block that can control any Control Rod within a 6 block radius, provided it has power. When the power is cut off, the unit will automaticlly SCRAM the reactor, thereby hindering or even stopping a nuclear reaction. It can also be controlled remotely by a Reactor CPU Remote Control
Reactorcraft Handbook Description[]
"The reactor CPU can be used to manage the operation of a Nuclear Reactor. It allows you to manipulate each Control Rod individually, or all at once. It also will sense the Temperature of the surroundings and will trigger a SCRAM if the Temperature gets too high, preventing a meltdown. Note that much as in a real reactor, if the CPU loses power for any reason, the Control Rods will all fall into place, likely stopping the nuclear reaction"
Requirements[]
Power | 1024W per Control Rod |
Interface[]
The Reactor CPU Interface consists of 2 buttons and a 13x13 grid indicating the state and position of the control rods. When unpowered, all relevant squares will display a dull gray, and when powered, any irrelevant blocks will be displayed with dark gray, and the control rods will be indicated by either a red square (indicating retracted rods), or a green square (indicating inserted rods).
Angular Transducer Output[]
- Right-clicking with an Angular Transducer will give you the unit's current temperature.
